Weddings are hard work, and not just for the couple getting hitched. It's also a lot for the folks setting aside time and funds to attend their special day. So, it's always a perk if the wedding’s happening in spring, when the weather is warm and dress options are plenty.
To decide what to wear for a spring wedding, you'll want to check out the invitation before you go on a shopping spree. "Take inspiration from spring flowers and nature: all shades of pink, lush greens, sky blues, and sunny yellows," says stylist Lesley Brickman. You'll of course want to stick to the old rule of not wearing white, but avoid red, too, if you're going to an Indian wedding since Indian brides traditionally wear red.

When it comes to length, what you wear depends on how formal the occasion is and the time of day. Hearst's executive fashion director, Kristen Saladino, says it's best to stick with a mid-calf length or longer. Go with an ankle or floor-length gown if the dress code is black tie. If there's no dress code, Brickman says to go for a midi length dress. And when it comes to sleeves, a sleeveless or short sleeve dress is best for spring. Just be sure to bring a wrap in case it gets chilly when the sun goes down.
