   Update your PS5. Since this is a recent update, make sure your PS5 is up-to-date in order to use Discord. To check for updates, do the following^[1]:

   • Open Settings.
   • Select System.
   • Select System Software.
   • Select System Software Update and Settings.
   • If there's an update available, select Update System Software.

   Open Discord. You can use the desktop client, a web browser, or the mobile app.

   • If you aren't already logged in, enter your email address and password to do so now. Create an account if needed.
   • You can also link your account in the PlayStation settings. Open Settings → User and Accounts → Linked Services → Discord → Link Account → Accept and Continue. Scan the QR code on mobile or enter the generated code on desktop.

   Open the User Settings. On desktop, click the cog icon. On mobile, swipe right to open the menu, and then click your user profile.

   Click or tap Connections. This will be underneath Devices.

   Click or tap the PlayStation logo. On mobile, you'll need to tap Add in the top-right corner first.

   • If you already had your PlayStation account linked to Discord before this update, unlink the account and link it again.

   Click Continue. On mobile, this looks like Get Started.

   Click or tap Continue again. The PlayStation login website will open on your desktop or mobile browser.

   Sign into your PlayStation account. Enter your email address and password to log into your account.^[2]

   • This is the PlayStation account linked to your PS5. If needed, you can create a new one.

   Tap Authorize and Continue. Your PlayStation account will be linked to Discord. You may need to click or tap Done.

    Toggle Discord displays. On the Connections page of Discord, you'll see PlayStation listed.

    • Toggle on Display on profile to show your PlayStation ID on your Discord profile.
    • Toggle on Display PlayStation Network as your status to show your PlayStation activity live.

   Turn on your PS5. Make sure your PS5 is active, and you have a working microphone connected to your controller.

   Start a call on Discord. Use the Discord desktop client, website, or app to begin a video call. You can join a call in a Direct Message or a community server's voice channel.

   • Discord chat is different from PS5's party voice chat. You can't be in both at once, so be sure to exit any party voice chat.

   Transfer Voice to PS5. On the Discord desktop client or website, click the phone and game controller icon in the voice chat window. Then, click Transfer to PlayStation.

   • On mobile, swipe up on the voice chat menu and tap Join on PlayStation.

   Select your PS5. Your linked PS5 should be listed. If you don't see it, tap Reload.

   • If you still don't see your PS5, unlink your PS5 from Discord and link it again.

   Click or tap Join Call on PlayStation. This is the blue button at the bottom.

   • Your call will begin to transfer to your PS5.
   • If it's successful, you'll see Connected on PS5 in the voice chat menu.

   Start talking on your PS5. You should see the pop-up: You joined the Discord voice chat.

   • Press the PlayStation button on your controller to view the Discord voice chat menu.
   • When you're finished, you can select Leave on the PS5 Discord menu, or you can leave the chat from the desktop or mobile app.
