Aunt Lou here.

We had just returned from our maiden voyage with our camper. It was a wonderful weekend full of memory making fun from morning til bedtime! However, that meant we were beat when we returned home. I knew just what I wanted to make! I had seen the original oven recipe in Gooseberry Patch’s 303 ‘Round the Clock Recipes. I tweaked the recipe just a little to make it work in the slow cooker, and the results of this Crock Pot Hamburger Stroganoff were perfect! It was a super simple recipe that the entire family loved. I bet your friends and family will love it too!

Hi there Aunt Lou, Im making your recipe for the first time tonight. My kids are super pickey eaters and I am really hoping they like this. You mentioned that each crockpots cook time is different, Since its all cooked already, can it just be mixed in the CP and then served after a few moments?

    Sincerely
    ~Curious Momma

In order to give all the flavors time to meld together, you will need to leave it in your crock pot for longer than a few moments. Think of the time in the slow cooker as the same as when you take cooked ingredients and combine them in a casserole dish and throw them in the oven or putting them all in a skillet and let it simmer for a bit. I hope this answers your question and that your kids enjoyed it!

I love ground beef. I love noodles. I love sour cream. I love onions. I’m in heaven.
I added some frozen peas at the end for color and flavor. I also browned my own mushrooms to add. Scrumptious!
Thanks for another easy, great-tasting recipe.

I will be making this as its right up my alley. I question the 1 hour setting for the Crock Pot. Most Slow cookers are just warm in one hour. High or low makes no difference in just 1 hour.

      Hi Doyle!

We highly recommend watching your crock pot closely when trying a recipe for the first time. For this recipe, mine was done in one hour. Yours might cook differently. I have over 10 crock pots and each one cooks differently. It can be frustrating at times, but once you know your slow cooker, you will know how each recipe needs to be timed. I hope that helps and that you enjoy this recipe as much as we do!

Sounds good. Can leftovers be reheated for a second meal without being too dry
    or soggy?

Sounds so much like a beef stroganoff I used to make in an electric frying pan — no crock pots then! It is delicious …

Me too. This is so delicious. I used cream of chicken soup in mine. This time I think I’ll use chicken mushroom soup and throw in a jar of mushrooms. This is so good.
